We started 2020 with a busy few weeks delivering content for the Greater Shankill Partnership and their ‘Ur Journey Ur Shankill’ event. We produced a series of videos to be played at the event and documented throughout the two days with a next day edit for day two. We took this opportunity to update our Inspire 2 drone and have now added a Pro Res license allowing us to shoot up to 5.2k on to a hard drive to give us an even better video image.
This month we’ve been busy setting up our new bangor office, with an in-house edit suite and town centre location we are feeling inspired by our new surroundings. Looking forward to meeting the locals and finding collaborators nearby. We’ve also been working on developing new documentary ideas for broadcast together with Ronin Films and have an exciting new taster/trailer ready to submit to local broadcasters.
This month was our last month in Blick Studio before we move offices. Currently we are setting up a new studio down the road in great Victoria Street, Belfast. We have big plans for our new space – there is already an audio studio built and plans to build a green screen and create a space for independent filmmakers and photographers. We have also set-up a new office in Bangor with huge new business plans set for 2020.
A highlight from the month was working on a new CBBC show filming in Belfast called the Tillie Files. Chris Eva was Shooting Director on it and shot a few clips for another show currently in production called Almost Never. It’s great to see so many productions in Belfast at the minute, long may it continue!
Nowadays you don’t need big budgets and specialised equipment to tell a great story through video. We’ve been facilitating one-day interactive workshops taking people through everything you need to know about planning video for social media or website promotion. This month Chris has been taking workshops in NICVA for local businesses and Queens University Belfast for students doing a masters in Media and Broadcast Production.
Over the last few weeks we’ve been producing an exciting new promotional video for one of our existing clients, The Bytes Project. They are currently working on an amazing new project using an App along with a newly developed online platform for young people. Voices for Impact gives young people the chance to share their stories and network with others on the platform. Keep an eye out for it launching soon.
Shot in 4k video using the Ursa Mini Pro on location at Bytes headquarters.

We just finished a great week filming inspiring workshops and talks at the R-City Summer Camp 2019. Creating next day videos for the charity, the team rolled out a series of short features about the R-City Belfast’s work.
Great chance to film drone footage with DJI’s latest X7 camera on the Inspire 2.

The production was entirely shot on the DJI Inspire 2. It was kitted with the amazing X7 camera and shot in 4k video.
The event was held in the stunning location of Portglenone in Northern Ireland. Check out more local fishing competitions.
